Granted, it's not a perfect show, but it is sweet and you should definitely give it a try.

I think the thing that bothers me the most about the pause and potential cancellation of good omens is that I was so excited to see a queer show run to completion. We've seen it before, but almost never with such diverse representation. In good omens, we have

Lesbians

Nonbinary characters (human and otherwise)

Gay men

POCs

Disabled people

People of lots of different body shapes and sizes

And none of that is ever made a big deal. Most of it isn't even mentioned!

"What about Heartstopper?" I hear you ask. As much as I liked it, the show in particular often felt (at least to me) sanitised and watered down for a straight female audience. Good Omens really feels like it's for queer people, and others who dont fit the mold that society has made for us.

So please, I urge you to reach out to @primevideo and tell them to fire Gaiman and resume season 3.

I didn’t think it was possible to be so excited and so damn worried about an episode of a television show in my life. If ANYTHING happens to Isaac and Nigel, I don’t what I’ll do.

I mean, look at them:

These two have been waiting for each other for 250 years. Yes, it was a very long slow burn to get where they are now, but they got there. They need to be happy. They DESERVE to be happy. And I swear to god, if either one of them or both get ‘sucked off’, I won’t be able to function.

I've voiced it before but it feels SO weird that The Dragon Prince isn't like, tumblr mainstream, so here's my pitch!

It's got it all- a fantasy world and premise fit for ttrpg campaigns with a rulebook and pre-made campaigns ready to go with more coming soon, it's a fantasy epic that were it live action would probably be compared to Lord of the Rings but with more political intrigue, gray morality built into the magic system, a video game that just dropped, as well as graphic novels so the world is continually growing more fleshed out and there's so many ways to engage with it

It's also made by some of the people behind the original AtLA

And while i hate to boil down shows to their rep, its a talking point for a good reason- The Dragon Prince has more rep of any sort than I've ever seen in a TV show across every board (we just had a lesbian enemies to lovers wedding between a black woman and a Deaf Asian woman last season) and the show never makes people out to be token characters

While S1 may seem a bit slow to some people, there's an immediate jump in animation quality after S1 due to higher framerates, and as a fantasy epic focused on character arcs and cycles, the show hits its stride better and better as it goes on, so I'd really encourage people to give it a chance and watch it take off

For world building, intensely fine tuned character dynamics, a whole cascade of parallels and tidbits to follow for season after season, and all sorts of ways to play with the world, I really rec The Dragon Prince to any fantasy fan who wants something like LotR mixed with AtLA for a wonderful time and an active fandom!

This entire scene leading up to the kiss. Agatha reaching for Rio's face, the vulnerability Rio shows in that moment as she stares into her eyes. Rio's gaurd is down in this moment because the woman that she loves is finally returning to her arms after centuries of being apart. THIS version of them, falling back into the muscle memory of their love will forever be my roman empire.
